Unfortunately this museum needs more funding and more exhibits to make it a tourist attraction. The handful of aging volunteers are doing their best and are very interesting to talk to.

It is a small museum, but we stayed well over an hour. It is run be enthusiasts and their dedication shows in every room and every corner of the place. There are so many exhibits in the historical old station that you feel transported back into the past (and into your childhood if you're a bit older). If you have... More

We were trying to get in as much as possible in Bundaberg earlier this month and the Bundaberg Railway Museum was one of our stops. They had a bit of flooding earlier in June when all the wild weather whipped the East Coast but it didn’t seem to affect the displays or the enthusiasm of the staff. It was an... More

When you drive in it does not look much but it is well worth the visit. They were recovering well after the floods. Lots of history and some lovely things to see.

It's lovely to see a historic part of Bundabergs history being preserved by passionate people. The area is small, but has a nice collection of model trains, ticket and timetable memorabilia, photographs, machinery and bits and bobs. My two year old boy loved pulling the old signal levers and exploring the restored passenger cabin, which e thought was 'Annie' from... More

I took my granddaughter to the railway museum during the school holidays. The lovely man who showed us around was so interesting with the history of the museum. My granddaughter loved the museum, and it is certainly a place to take the children. Worth a visit.

A nice little afternoon activity for the train nut! We were welcomed by a volunteer and showed around but left to selves at the end to explore. Kids enjoyed it.

My husband loved the many stories of the old timer railway employees that were our guides. The stories of resurrecting themselves from the great flood of 2013 was inspiring. The restored machinery and papers; the newly donated items for display were all interesting. It did however take much longer than we'd anticipated because of the many stories to be told.

Although only $6.50 entrance fee, I was amazed the price was so high, for just a walk-through museum which took just 10mins. However it seems the Museum needs to pay Queensland Rail to lease the museum, then pay the council for land rates .. amazing !! If you have seen railway museums elsewhere, give this one a miss .. although... More
