This is the beach of choice while we are on the Gold Coast. The beach is a easy place for my husband to help my son to splash around in the shallows. Always remember to swim between the flags. The close proximity to change rooms, shops, and cafes for lunch make it a 'no brainer'.

A gorgeous swathe of soft white sand in a beautiful large crescent. Unspoilt and well looked after by local lifeguards. Well carved up into space to learn to surf or the families that wish to chill and jump in the waves. Not too packed either! As with most of this Coast the current is strong and the waves are high... Safe beach for families with young and teenage kids. The place is manned by the surf club and we felt safe even with big waves. Enjoyed the wide sandy area to just chill and relax.

As a tourist there are so many pros to this beach! Much quieter than the esteemed surfers paradise. Beautiful white sand. Close to places to pop in and eat. Couple of hours of free parking. However, the wind was pretty savage whilst we were there and I took some nasty blue bottle stings (unaware about the effects of said northern... More

We have just arrived home and missing the place already. The beach is so clean and white. The children had so much fun playing in the sand and building castles. There were a few blue bottles but a few of us went swimming with no issues. Close to our hotel and shops.

Love the beaches, waves and walks. Great getaway an hour from home. Plenty cool spots for coffee and wining and dining.

A beautiful clean beach which is well taken care of. I recommend visiting on sunset and looking out towards the Gold Coast on a clear day. It is also a very easy walk from the roadway to the beach.

A walk from Kirra Beach car park where there are plenty of choices for a snack, drink or morning tea. Bathing for an hour, then walk up to Coolongatta beach along the sand or the boardwalk. Lunch at Coolongatta then return walk for afternoon snack and drinks at Kirra Beach. Enjoyable day.

We always love our visits to Coolangatta and in particular the beautiful beach. Lots of sand & surf. We enjoyed great weather with swimming & body surfing most days. The water temperature in January was a great 25 degrees. Beach is patrolled from 7:30am to 6:30pm. Be careful of stingers which only made an appearance on our last 2 days.... More
