A very beautiful lake. Depending on the time of the day and month the lakes changes colour. Plenty of parking and round the whole lake.

We were staying st Pine Country Caravan Park so took the opportunity to view the twin blue lakes. Very blue on a clear sunny day, but a slightly grey on cloudy days. However, it didn't distract from the beauty created from 2 volcanos eons ago.

Our trip to blue lakes was interesting and worthwhile. The lake was light blue and aqua but the lakes are better in summer. We highly recommend that you go in the summer but it is still worthwhile in the other seasons.

A visit to Mt.Gambier wouldn't be the same without a trip to the Lake to see it's many changes throughout the seasons.

Had been told to visit the blue lake whilst on our travels.Although it was not blue because we were their in august it was still an amazing sight to think you were actually looking at a volcano.definitely worth the visit.

A great way to start or finish a days work at the Mount by going for a brisk walk or run for the more energetic around the lake. Take in the great views and fresh country air.

a lovely spot to visit, relax and picnic. But the lakes are only blue in summer time due to algae. There are playgrounds and seating and it is nice to stroll around

The blue lake will still be nice, and it will be a more vibrant blue than your average lake for sure, but it is certainly it's most impressive from November-Feb. As for Adelaide, in Feb you can expect periods where the... More

The above responses are all correct but like the writers I am also unsure of the operating hours. I do take great pride in the fact I lived in Mt. Gambier for 10yrs. including my teenage years. My late father was a well... More

Hi Wendy, as arr0w123 and others have mentioned, no you can't because it is our town water supply. Having said that if you are visiting, the 45min tour held every hour on the hour is brilliant. We have only been here 8yrs... More
