Our grandchildren were visiting and I was looking forward to taking them to the zoo. What a disappointment! The place looked run down and staff couldn't be bothered to interact with the visitors. Many areas had no animals. Some enclosures contained animals, but they couldn't be seen. I visited this place four years ago and was impressed. It has changed... More

hat a fantastic place, wander around at your own pace, the animals were actually coming up to us at the fence. No crowds, well set out and the kids thoroughly enjoy the dinosaur park.

After hearing mixed reviews, we were surprised how amazing Tasmania Zoo is! The bird collection is extensive (the talking cockatoos were a favourite with the little ones), as well as monkeys, Australian animals, lions, reptiles ... the list goes on. The dinosaur swamp was excellent and our little man was so excited to walk through and find all the different... More

A great day out at Tasmania zoo, all the animals were very well cared for no the displays well done. The feedings were entertaining especially the meerkats and the Tassie devils encounter was a highlight for our grandson. All in all it was good value for money and presented an eclectic mix of animals for visitors to see and interact... More

Kids enjoyed the zoo...we parents just milled along. Pleasant day though it was hot. Would have been nice to have faster service at the cafe.

Recently took a group of 5 children and spent 5-6 hours there Adult entry a bit overpriced but had 20% off vouchers for the kids Kids loved the petting zoo and spent a good 3 hours there over the course of the day the only dissapointment of this experience was later in the afternoon there were children belonging to staff... This zoo looks like someone decided to start collecting animals. The enclosures are small (especially the birds) but essentially well maintained. The lions were a surprise! They paced the fence-line the whole time we were there. Under-stimulated perhaps? BUT there were Tassie devils in excess! They were so playful leading up to feeding time and there were three separate enclosures... More

We spent a couple of hours at the zoo. Very pricey as there is not a huge range of animals and some enclosures were empty, small zoo. 2 adults and 2 children $86.00. There is a bbq area and children's fenced play area consisting of a long bouncing pillow, upkeep tools were left in this area rake etc. Lions new... More

We weren't even aware this place existed when planning our trip, but decided to make the drive here to see a Tasmania Devil up close after no avail in other places. we weren't disappointed! What a neat little zoo, would be great for small kids as the animals are easy to spot and it's not a massive place where kids... More
