What an amazing church for a country town. The stained glass windows and painted ceiling is superb. Many cherubs larking about.

A must to visit in Bairnsdale. Such a beautiful old church and you will get a sore neck gazing at the ceiling. We visited during an Easter Service so the church was full

This old church seems like you just step back in time, the paintings on the ceilings and walls take you back to another time

This church was hand painted by an Italian migrant in the 1930's. Some people liken to to the Sistine Chapel in Rome. It is visited by over 100000 people each year.

Worthwhile to see the amazing murals. The stained glass is impressive. Spent 30 minutes there. Well worth preserving this local treasure

This was my childhood church, and I was always mesmerised by the lavish and detailed full-wall/ceiling depiction of heaven, purgatory and hell behind the pulpit as I listened (sometimes not so attentively) to the service. The ceiling took the artist around 5 years to paint...More
