The Pride of the Murray began life in 1924 as a barge. She has since been converted to a paddle wheeler best suited to functions and group bookings. The Pride claims a proud title: of the many boats originally built in Echuca, she along with the PS Pevensey and PS Adelaide, still operate from their home Port.

All children have the opportunity to steer the paddlesteamer and receive a Free Skippers Certificate.

Private Charters. The Pride of the Murray is great for group gatherings (it is the only boat with Air Conditioning!). Private charters offer very reasonable rates to then allow the dates, route, duration, meals and other services to be tailored to the groups preferences. For availability and a personalised quote, please see contact our booking office.

The Pride of the Murray or the PS Canberra will operate each day for 1 hour cruises at 10:30am, 11:45am, 1:15pm and 2:30pm. Alternative schedules are run at very busy times as well as off-peak periods, please check with our office for the daily schedule.

The Pride of the Murray is an excellent option for your next function or event. Its extensive viewing area, fully enclosed deck, large open areas and air-conditioning ensures a very comfortable cruise for intimate groups or large gatherings.

The Pride is well suited for:

Paddlesteamers have paddles and a steam engine. The PotM has paddles and a diesel engine hidden out of sight - making it a paddlediesel. None of that steamy fun some may seek, just a way to propel the boat. The pretend funnel doesn't even continue to the lower section. The 6pm sailing promised light refreshments. This proved to be a... More

We went on the NY eve trip with live music. Light finger food provided was very basic- no serving utensils or plates. Limited drink options for purchase and no commentary. Scenery generally dull- muddy river banks and campsites. There are more interesting ways to enjoy Echuca.

I shared this experience with a new found brother and family members. It was a beautiful day up the river and one i had wanted to do for a long time. The steamer was pleasant and the view was not great but the journey was worth the cost of the ticket. Reccommended just to say you did it.... !!!!

We actually went on the Pride of the Murray paddlesteamer down to the restaurant but the Pride was not available to pick us up as it had a wedding on board that afternoon. Lunch at Morrisons represented good value, the meal was tasty and well presented and it is a delightful location. We were picked up on the Emmylou which... More

With the current water levels in the Murray River and Campaspe River, the Pride of the Murray is able to cruise up the Campaspe River. I was lucky enough to be on the boat as it ventured up the Campaspe River for the first trip with passengers. It gave a different perspective to the local area as I had never... More

Dinner cruise on pride of the murray. Staff were friendly. But food not great. Reheated roast, frozen veges. No options. Not a fabulous buffet dinner as on the promotional material. And only 3 songs on playlist. Yes, 3 songs, over and over and over, for 150 minutes. And not good ones.

We purchased the Morrisons lunch cruise on the Pride of the Murray last Saturday. The booking process online was very easy and efficient. Prior to departure we were to pick up our tickets at the Port office. We were met with lovely staff there who were very organised and provided us with the necessary information re boarding our paddle steamer.... More
