The Port of Echuca is a living monument to the 1870's when it was Australia's largest inland port and indeed the third largest port in Australia outside Sydney and Melbourne. Authentic steam driven paddlesteamers depart daily from the Echuca Wharf which originally extended 333 metres in length in the 1880's and has been recently been reconstructed.Home of the TV series "All the Rivers Run", the Port of Echuca will provide you with a glimpse of what live was really like in the late 1800's. With the new Discovery Centre now open, it is indeed an attraction not to be missed.

Paid for a package deal for myself and 2 kids. Had a great paddesteamer trip on the Pevensey with great commentary, a fantastic tour with Joel, the kids loved the treasure hunt and the lunch package at Henry's was delicious. Thanks Echuca!

Relaxed wander around the Port area full of interesting information of the past. Some parts seem abandoned, but I think this is redevelopment.

So to get to the river you have to pay. Sneaky. I guess it pays the upkeep but it was a surprise and gave a poor impression. It is interesting but I would have preferred to have an option.
