Only 2km return from the carpark with an elevation of 110 metres, this walk is well worthwhile. I'd grade it medium to the falls but easy to the lookout. You start at the McKenzies Falls carpark and follow the signs. The lookout is accessed via a short, sealed walking track from MacKenzie Falls Carpark. The initial section is steep, but... More

Absolutely adorable! Steps are bit steep, but each view is photographic. And being at the feet of the fall is quite rewarding. Just that climbing back up is really truly and literally - breathtaking!

Everybody who goes to the Grampians HAS to go to Mckenzie falls. It's beautiful. Getting down there doesn't take very long but the stairs are steep. It's not a hike in the traditional sense because the path down is all man made, personally I was grateful because without those stairs and the railing, no way was I getting down there... More

Incredible views, best visited after a big rainfall to get the true majesty of the falls. Stairs are quite steep and there is only one way up and down. Definitely worth it though!

Must be in your to do list if you visit Halls Gap. 15km from central Halls Gap, mild walk down to falls from car park. Powerful large falls that are breathtaking. Wear good shoes as can be slippery. Also don't swim in the falls as can be dangerous. Tourists have drowned in the falls trying to swim in the past.

McKenzie Falls is a magnificent wonder of Nature. Power of water falling down the rock wall is simply spectacular, one of 'must visit' places at Grampians.

My autistic 7 year old is hard to get motivated at the best of times but damned if I was going home without seeing first hand the beauty of these falls. After half an hour of arguments in the car park that he wasn't coming finally we were right to go. He raced us down to the bottom of the... More

The waterfall reduced to a trickle when we were there in January. However the walk and the surrounds and the Grampians in general are fantastic.

Worth a visit, nice spot to stretch the legs with a lovely waterfall at the end! It is steep but not far so you can walk as quick or slow as you like, under 600m. Plenty of flat rock at the bottom to sit back and enjoy the falls.

If you want an easier walk, head to the lookout to get a great view of McKenzies Falls! It's great for all fitness levels and during January it was a lot quieter than down at the base of the falls. Great for photo's as well!
