There was only 11 places to see, but all of them were different in their unique ways, and all showed the impact that Chaffey had on this river town. The Mildura Homestead and Rio Vista House were standouts, while Lock 11 and the grounds were perfect for our lunch stop. An informative tour.

Pick up the info sheet from the tourist information. Then drop into the bits that interest you. Leave the Wharf until last and then take a paddle steamer ride on the Murray.

Most beautiful home, so old and so modern, sadly the glass house was not standing, and still renovations happening, but really is something to see, some very sad parts to the home

We followed the Chaffey Trail after picking up the brochure from the Visitor Information Centre. Really enjoyed the history. Visited the first winery which is still operating. Did not look as if any improvements since first set up. Good experience.

We were informed that the Chaffey steam engine would be running at the Psyche Bend pumping station for possibly the last time as expensive maintenance was required with a lack of required funds so we went to have a look. We were very glad we did as it was a great Sunday morning trip out! To see the old steam... More

If you like history then following this journey is well worth it. You need your own car to see it all. It certainly gives you a good sense of what was going on in Mildura many years ago.

Mildura only exists thanks to the vision of the Chaffey brothers, two Canadian entrepreneurs who established Sunraysia's irrigation system. You can follow in their footstepss, and see the Chaffey mansion. It's a trail worth following.
