Interesting exhibits.

Interesting current exhibit on the history of jews in greece over the last few centuries. One hour should suffice to visit this relatively small but interesting museum

I attended the museum as part of a work group. We had a wonderful volunteer tour guide who was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer a barrage of questions as we walked around the exhibits. The museum is quite modern and well laid out. I particularly liked the timeline of Jewish history and artifacts, and also found the Jewish... More

This museum helps keep alive the dreadful truth of the holocaust with many local survivors contributing time and services to the museum. In addition this fantastic the long history of Jewish Australians which dates back to the first fleet.

We visited the Melbourne Synagogue during the Open House Melbourne Weekend. The large building, which dominates the corner of St Kilda Road and Toorak Road, had intrigued me over the years, so it was great to be able to take a tour. We were fortunate to be guided by Ronny, a very personable man who is employed by the community... More

Well worth a visit for non Jewish tourists and students doing religions of the world. Tour guides are fantastic with a wealth of knowledge. It has a great timeline of events relating to biblical-middle eastern events. The back section is about the Jewish culture and way of life. Very well done. The art gallery section always has changing exhibitions of... More

I had limited knowledge of the Jewish religion in contemporary Australia so this excursion with a group of friends was enlightening for many reasons. Ros, our tour leader, had so much history and knowledge about The Jews throughout a very long history. She loves her religion with all the strict traditions but simply explained everything without preaching anything. We all... More

I attended a book launch here ,then toured the museum. I did not expect to be moved so much. Just could not take it all in. I am not jewish but felt the spiirits of the past btush against me as i view the displays. A visit is a must. Even if its just once .

Jewish Australians have a history in this country that dates back to the First Fleet. This fantastic museum celebrates their long history with an interesting collection. Also regularly has interesting exhibits. TIP: hop back on tram 67 and head south to the sombre but interesting Holocaust Museum in Elsternwick. A must see that can be confronting.
