Be prepared to spend several hours here, it's a very interesting look into the past. Very affordable pricing which includes a ride in a old car or horse drawn cart. Take time to talk with the vile volunteers who man the many old stores and sheds they are very informative and makes their day if people take the time to... More

The Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement is always wonderful to visit. 😀 You really feel like you are stepping back in time. There is a lovely cafe in the Settlement where you can sit on the deck or inside and have delicious home-made lunch or morning/arvo tea . You can even have an old-fashioned spider drink. There is a paddle steamer... More

We have wanted to visit this attraction for many years and it really exceeded our expectations. We booked through BIG4 Riverside and received a small discount. Make sure you allow plenty of time to inspect all the buildings, farm machinery, tractors, vintage cars, fire engines, train, Gem paddle wheeler, stage coaches and so much more. This attraction will transport you... More

We visited the old town of Pioneer Settlement both during the day, and for the sound and light show at night. A great mix of old stores, historical houses typical of those found on farms in the region in the past, and old machinery. The light and sound show at night was brilliant, great visual effects with laser and water,... More

Had a most enjoyable visit with my 10 year old granddaughter. My wife would have accompanied us but was excluded because of the no dogs policy. The venue is basically a street scape and I could see no logical reason why this should be so. Forbid the entry of dogs to buildings if you must but people walk dogs in... More

While in Swan Hill we traveled to the Pioneer settlement and we loved it. The paddle steamer was awesome and all of the shops and old time machinery was just amazing to look at.

I have read reviews about this place and so many people were negative. We loved it! Walked around the settlement, looked in all the old shops of how they were yesteryear. It took me back to when I was a child and my nanas place. The print shop was incredible. Bernard the volunteer was so informative and has us captured... More

Haven't been to Sovereign Hill yet to compare, but pretty impressed overall. Took the horse and cart ride for a lap and enjoyed stolling around getting lots of photos of the lovely old authentic buildings. Beautifully laid out and the volunteers were friendly. Cafe was clean and airey and well priced for a light lunch or slice. Complimentary tea and... More

Although I was solo on my visit I really enjoyed this step back in time. So many informative displays and signboards. I purchased my ticket discounted from the Big 4 Riverside Park and included the paddle boat ride down the river. The skipper/guide had a very dry sense of humour but was full of "fun facts". Loved Swan Hill and... More
