What wonderful hospitality in a trully wonderful part of the world! Claire and Mark provide wonderful accommodation, amazing food and beautiful surroundings. The experience provided great walking options for various fitness levels too. Each with pretty amazing views. You might even see a Kiwi. Highly recommended.

We were a group of 10 women who have done these type of walks for 15 years and this would be one of the best! Even though weather was a challenge - torrential rain, thunder and lightening storms!- we still managed to do some of the walk. Beautiful scenery with great variety. The lodge was perfect. Claire you have thought... More

Accommodation lovely with bath outside where you can relax in and listen to Kiwi. Claire's home cooking was delicious and plenty of it. A variety of walking tracks from easy to challenging and Claire very helpful in describing what you can expect on each walk.

The walks themselves were challenging but so worth the effort. The views were amazing from the ridges and the forest quite different from other parts of NZ. The beach was beautiful and luckily we had great weather so were able to swim. And of course we knew we would be coming home to Claire's amazing meals. The food provided by... More

I visited with friends for the three day option. We do one of these types of walk each year, and this ranks up as one if the most enjoyable! The lodge is fabulous - clean and we were very independent - with all the hard work done in terms of food. The food is tasty and just requires heating up..... More

The lodge was a perfect set up. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor bathroom, home cooked food and Claire's hospitality. She was very accommodating dropping and fetching us from our walks. The homemade preserves were a bonus and lovely to purchase as a take home souvenir.

We are 3 "oldies" - 72 to 82 years. Claire, the very accommodating guide and hostess, was able to make some practical suggestions for us. We were able to explore the area in a way that suited us. Claire would have driven us to the suggested areas if required - excellent service! A couple were wanting challenging hikes and Claire's... More

We just completed 3 nights stay at Bream Coasts Lodge..we loved the concept of a private lodge with walks on both public but also through some private farms that had acquired the approval of the occupants. Claire is a very accommodating host and puts a tremendous amount of work into making the Lodge successful. She supplies a daily amount of... More
