After a trawl of the many places selling crafts this proved to be areal gem. A very nice craft coop worth a stop even if you are not shopping. Merchandise well displayed and sales person was warm and friendly and not at all pushy. Well worth a stop even if you are only eye shopping. Recommend. Hope this helps.

It's nice to see a 'gallery' in such a small town, and there was a decent amount of local artists' work for sale. Nice to seem some well made native wood platters - always love those, but also plenty of things for the tchotcke lover

my wife and I enjoyed our visit to the cooperative gallery, especially as we know that the items on sale were made locally

We went to Hokitika for a rest stop and found this lovely store that had crafts made by New Zealanders. Large selection of various crafts, with a wide range of prices. The individual at the store was one of the artists and he recommended places to eat in town and along the way. Super friendly. Worth the stop.

This was an unexpected find on a late Saturday afternoon when many other shops were closed. Some beautiful pieces including some amazing wood turned pieces. It was great talking to the man who had made them and he was so helpful in shipping our purchase. Visit, you won't be disappointed.

Another great outlet for you to purchase jade and other souvenir items for yourself and gifts for your friends back home. You can spend the morning shopping before travelling to your next destination.

A great little place where you can meet the makers of local items like flax weavers, painters, carvers, wood workers and spend time getting to know their work. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Hokitika.
