Best way to visit with cable car from Kamniska Bistrica valley. From there you need around one hour of easy hiking to reach the peak. Awesome views of the Alps on a clear day from there. The food at Gostisce Zeleni Rob is the best.

Went on a Saturday night for Night time Sledding, truely one of the most exhilarating experience for this well traced Family from Australia. Scary, fun with Crazy Slovenians. What an amazing atmosphere. I can’t wait to see the place at Day time,

We visited Velika Planina in the beginning of November when the temperatures were still moderate. The cable car takes you up the mountain, from where you can start walking, or you take the gondola to the very top and start exploring from there. You have...More

Dear Mateja. water is not drinkable anywhere on Velika planina, because it's rain. It's also very rare, especially in summer.

This was certainly worth a visit if you’re in the area...the cable Car was approximately $14 euro per person...make sure you ask for a senior discount should this be the case, as you will get a little bit off of the original price. You are...More

Great views in the mountains of Kamnik. Go with the gondola en chairlift to the Velika Planina. The highest point is 1660 mtr. On the planina you can see old (rebuild after demolishing in ww2) sheperd houses. You can make good long hikes over there.

High alpine pasture land is something special with their interesting wooden architecture, some cows walking around and many tourists, happy to be between friends, in small, simple restaurants with fresh food and milk, to hear some accordions in the evening. This is not a place...More
