For many years the art museum of the islands Lolland and Falster had a rich collection of Danish painters stored away due to lack of exhibition space. The newly built Fuglsang Kunstmuseum is the beautiful frame for this excellent collection of some of the best painters in Denmark - from early 19. Century to the 1980'es. And don't miss the... More

Grounds were impressive - wonderful gardens and wooded areas full of ancient trees with giant snails and funghi. The stately home is now a retreat for those undertaking scientific research. Opposite, is an extensive Art gallery full of danish masters which has a nice cafe. All in all, a sublime destination.

I higly reccomend a trip to Fuglsang! By car it's about 90 minutes from Copenhagen. I really admire the people behind this place - they have a very convincing and personal approach to their exhibitions. For the next few months they'll be highlighting the Danish artist Palle Nielsen who's absolutely worth knowing. And the architecture is also worth a visit... More

Do visit this museum when on Lolland. Its a hidden gem with lots of painting from well-known danish painters. The view over the bay is breathtaking and the architecture is interesting.

This was an amazing find: a lovely museum of recent and contemporary Danish art in the middle of the countryside. But, even better, was the ambiance in which Fuglsang Kunstmuseum is situated. After exploring the art inside, we walked through the gardens of the old farm and estate. Allow enough time to talk a leisurely walk! We loved Copenhagen but... More

My partners parents have a beach house here, the beach is white and sandy, you can walk for miles looking out to see, or at all the private houses, which are very well kept, lots of wildlife, and views, the sea was warm ish and pebbly, but there were sandbanks in the water if you wanted to paddle out! There... More
