You will learn how to carve and make your own special bone carving under expert tuition and assistance, lots of techniques and tips are provided as well as meanings of traditional Maori designs.Small classes, relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We supply all necessary tools and material. At the end of the day you will have your very special necklace of bone jewellery, a beautiful gift from NZ. You can not buy it anywhere else, it is as unique as you are!So bring your own design ideas or take inspiration from samples. We booked this for a rainy day, but having done it would have sacrificed a sunny day too. Stefan is a brilliant teacher. We learned from scratch about bone carving, a little about the NZ culture and Maori traditions, and came away with bespoke necklaces...More

A really fun day with the reward of having made something unique by the end of the day. Stephan offers plenty of help and guidance while also letting you do the work yourself. Well worth doing while in Nelson.

Stephan's bone carving workshop was excellent and everyone in the group was very proud of the piece of jewellery they got out of it. Perfect thing to do if you're interested in crafts and Maori culture.

If you are in Nelson, you should definitely attend this workshop. With the help of Stephan, you could design and create your own piece of art. It's an amazing process. you are gonna love it.

Very nice day at Stephan's workshop. It makes a nice change from all the kiking/kayaking and so on. If you are in Nelson and are looking for a great friendly cultural and crafty experience, just do it!
