A historic pub in Russell, one of those places you have to visit, even if it's for a cheeky pint, which is what we did. Odd layout, but good beer!

I have been there a number of times and love the food and relaxed atmosphere. My favourite continues to be the lamb shanks, but there are alot of other really great dishes as well.

Came across on the ferry from Paihia and had a drink with my brother and his family in New Zealands oldest pub. It is a great place, the atmosphere and the building itself are pretty cool. The food is wonderful and all locally sourced.
