Izzy and I visited Ngatarawa on a “Grape Escape”. Lovely wines, beautiful setting and a great host… from Argentina no less. We took our wine in the old stables of the left wing of an open courtyard house where we could read the history of...More

Our experience was odd to say the least. We were a group of nine on a tour and when we arrived at the vineyard we asked to do a tasting and then to purchase one of the platters advertised. The woman was not impressed and...More

We have visited a fair number of wineries in many wine areas, and this one was average at best. The man who completed our tasting seemed disinterested in the role, and it felt that he was not respectful of the knowledge that those tasting brought....More

A tasteful sampling room (pun intended) and a good introduction to the family history, plus why the family decided to establish a winery. Learn why we don't get many wines from this region in Australia, then taste them.

We went here for wine tasting - were thrilled to hear it was free even with no purchase and had a very knowledgeable Argentinian explaining the wines to us. Tasted about 8 of them and then bought some to take home!

It's about 26 km, so doable if you want to do it. If you want to go to Hawke's Bay Wineries, there are others you might want to take in while you are in the cab to make it worth your while (for example, Mission Hill is... More
