My experience of this wonderful sight was from Mirador de Orellan, a lookout where you can get fantastic views of this natural feature and gold mining legacy It was a wet / damp day, so a visit to the Medulas themselves would have been be...More

One of “must see”. It is area of old Roman gold mine. They run two aqueducts to flush down entire mount. I think it was great environmental disaster of that times. Fortunately Nature reclaimed this place and rearranged it in great style. I can assure...More

This area is now a UNESCO World heritage Site. As the landscape was obscured by fog at the time of our visit, we were very disappointed not to be able to see the physical changes created by the mining activities of the Romans. There is,...More

There is an special place to see the scenery. You should go to Orellán. There is a landscape area. You drive there, and then you walk just 5 minutes. Pictures there are incredible. This place is world heritage. Deserves a lolt to go there

Such a pleasure to notice there are still beautiful things to see without paying a lot. You can drive all the way up (even with a mobile home, if you do some effort) and park there for free. Then it's only a 10 minute walk...More

Perfect place to spend a day. Especially the mirador de oréllan and the galleria de oréllan were really beautiful. Definitely go inside the caves. They cost 3€ but you must do it! The way up is steep and it is hot there so put on...More

One of the best landscapes in the word in my opinion, for sure one of the best I've ever seen. A perfect mix of history and nature, just walk down there on those beautiful red hills.

The site per se it's nothing if you don't like both nature and history. It requires a special dose of physical training, especially if you go for the long path and good trainers otherwise you will be missing the beauty of this ancient Roman site...More
