There are many very special places in Kakadu and Nourlangie is one of them. Rock paintings many thousands of years old, incredible vistas, well marked trails. It's a very special place that's worth at least one visit. Like just about everywhere in the top end,...More

This area is well worth the effort. So much to see and the rock formations are definitely some of the most interesting I've seen.

Rock paintings, beautiful country, what more could you ask for? Loved it! Not gonna add photos as the photos aren't as good as being there. Go check it out yourself, you'll love it to!

Love this place. Need to go in the dry season if you don’t like humidity. An easy climb to the lookout for someone with average fitness.

Some impressive rock art and then an easy climb to the lookout - some uneven steps and steep in places so if you have mobility problems stay on the boardwalk and just enjoy the art. Tip go early while it's cooler with fewer flies and...More

Nourlangie Rock has a trail walk with several rock art sites. There's also a lookout but as it was excruciatingly hot on the day we were there, we didn't walk that far. The rock art is really interesting and well preserved so it's worth seeing....More

I think I preferred the Rock art to the Ubirr site. Different things to see though and definitely worth visiting. You dont need as much time here as Ubirr.

Excellent Aborigine art site. Well worth a visit. Try early morning to avoid the heat. The flies are a problen though, even 50% DEET does not put them off!

There are about 3 different galleries and an easy walk. You can extend the walk up onto the escarpment for views. Good information to explain or arrive at a time when there is a guided walk by the ranger to get the most out of...More

Lovely artworks under rock overhangs can be viewed easily at Nourlangie. The climb to the lookout to see the escarpment to Arnhem land is not to arduous at all. The longer track was closed due to the hot weather

The first section is quite flat and easy going. great rock art. to get to the view is a scramble with some short steep going up the rocks. Its worth it but you'll have to carry the little'un and help the 4YO Take water... More
