We were on a cycle tour of Sri Lanka. Our circular route (planned well in advance) started and ended in Colombo and the southerly section took us from Ella to Nuwara Eliya, via Ohiya. Our forst indication that we would have to pay was when...More

While it is a little pricey, it's well worth the trip. There's a very varied landscape and we spotted different animals too. Worlds end was pretty cool but the trail itself is the highlight. Make sure to go really early (we left our place at...More

Sri Lanka is a great country but this attraction is nothing much. If you come from Europe you'll see nothing new here as it's nothing more than a countryside walk in typcial European scenery with a decent view at the end - certainly doesn't live...More

Horton plains is not so interesting as the beautiful mountain roads nearby and the Sinharaja forest. The mountains around our Hill Safari hotel were much more beautiful, even without such cliffs as World's end! The waterfall in the territory is very small and uninteresting too....More

Poor infrastructure: broken/dirty toilettes, bad signaling through the path, no bins, no barriers on the view points (dangerous). However, views are breathtaking, and the surroundings are beautiful, totally recommended the visit despite the issues. The walk is easy but you need to have proper shoes...More

The trek route was quite scenic - more of grassland with some patches of forests. My mother also did the trek with me and my wife. My mom had to take support at places where the route was quite badly washed away - there were...More

Hello Good people! Need your suggestion again. I understand, transport needs to be reserved to visit horton plains. We have booked our hotel nearby city centre. So, which transports are available to go there? Should we book it before and how much will be the transport cost? Who will pay the fees for the vehicle at the park, us or the driver? And lastly, I understand entry tickets are available at entrance from 6am, so no need to buy the tickets earlier, am I right? Will highly appreciate your responses.

Hi All! I understand, Horton plain is recommended to visit in the morning. But because of time constrains, we can not go in the morning. 1. If we start at 12:00 pm, will it be still worthy? 2. How much is the entry fee? 3. How much time it takes to reach there from Nuwara Eliya town area? 4. Lastly, with medium walking, how much time will be required to complete the trekking? Any response from you will be great for us!
