Established in 1987 this unique regional art gallery is housed in a striking heritage building located in the arts precinct, a short walk from the CBD of Wangaratta. The Gallery collects textile art, small sculpture, wood, and significant works of art. It also collects works of art by state and national artists of significance.

Over numerous visits, I found there would always be some thing interesting to see. The exhibits included local artists as well as special items on loan.

The gallery is housed in a former church with a lovely ceiling and is worth a visit. It has changing exhibitions and showcases local artists and different media.

They had some very nice pieces to see, it was warm and spacious. There was a lot of variety and things I would not have normally expected to see.

We saw an exhibition of Australian indigenous art - well presented. We were travelling with some visitors from Colombia and they really enjoyed seeing the art.

It never seeks to amaze me at the quality, depth, variety of the talented artworks on display by local and beyond artists. Out gallery is a must do visit for anyone living or visiting the region.
