This is a great location for a picnic or just sit and take in the serenity. Excellent spot in the middle of summer as it is a little cooler than down the valley, and beautiful cool clean water for a swim. Plenty of fish but...More

We have enjoyed this space on a number of occasions and I think it is also suitable to take visitors to the area. There is space to walk the area as well as the option of sitting by the water and swimming.

We came here on a sunny day of 21C with barely a cloud in the sky and it was near paradise. This is a very pleasant little body of water surrounded by forested hills. There were a few kids swimming and paddling around in boats,...More

This was the 2nd year in a row we have spent NYE at Lake William Hovell. It is a great spot for swimming, kayaking and just relaxing. We also went for some fairly tame 4WD'ing which was fun.

Very pretty area, lots of birdlife and crystal clear water. No camping available, but you're allowed to swim and do water sports. They also have bbq facilities. Main disappointment is that you're not allowed to walk the dam wall!

We were just driving slowly through Cheshunt and saw the sign post for Lake William Hovell. What a beautiful drive to it, well worth a visit especially on one of the few sunny Spring days we've had. The lake is splendid with an impressive spillway....More

I'm a local from this area and love taking my dogs and the boat up to the lake for a fish or for a 4wd. There are also some great camping spots up here too! Very pretty! :)

Beautiful spot, good facilities. Busy on long weekend but not overwhelming. Great for sailing and kayaks and fishing off shoreline or in small low powered tinnies.
