A favourite amongst locals and highly recommended to all tourists. The views from the top are stunning. It is a short walk, just over a 1km. The sign at the bottom says about 2 hours round trip but most do it in under an hour. It is steep (mostly stairs) in the early stages but personally once you are two... More

We climbed up with our two kids aged 9 & 10, had a look around the top, and got back down to the car park in about an hour. There are mozzies as you make your way up through the woods, but higher up the wind takes care of them. Interesting geology here too - horizontal columns of igneous rock,... More

Early morning walk is the best, you get to see the beautiful sunrise. Make sure you have mosquito repellent on, comfortable shoes as its very rocky. Track can be bit steep & a bit scary half way esp if you're a bit scared of heights. But the view was just magnificent. It's worth the walk!! Once you get to the... More

Great walk to do in avo with fantastic view.Takes less than an hour return, even though the sign says 2 hours. Heaps of steps and could be a struggle for the older and unfit.

Wasn't sure what to expect as I had a 2 year hold on my back but even so the climb was not really challenging. Took 1hr up and down. ( they suggest allowing 2hrs). Lots of mozzies on the way up but once through the trees they disappeared. Here's the view from the top!

Our young children walked it. Went early. Rocky steps. Mix of people from early runners, casual walkers and sightseers. Careful with where you park to avoid parking tickets. Beautiful view. Approx 30 min walk each way for reasonable fitness. Well worth it, especially early in the morning!

After visiting the Sunshine Coast for many years, we finally decided to climb Mt Coolum. This is a relatively straightforward walk, however it is quite steep so it gets the heart pumping and the leg muscles working. There are a lot of steps, but it is worth taking the time to appreciate just how much work has gone into building... More

A great little hike up Mount Coolum. Advertised as 2 hour return however we managed to complete it in an hour which included a good 15 minutes at the top for photos etc. Do it! You'll feel better for the walk and the view is amazing!
