We visited Birdland previously and purchased (in the tourist season when open) and although this lovely gallery was closed (wet season) the very talented artist, Louise, opened her gallery for us to buy a lovely pottery dish for a gift

Cute little gallery, tucked away in the industrial area. Not really a "thing to do", more of a boutique retail store, but it's all lovely stuff; handmade, functional art including jewellery, plates, mugs, etc.

Louise is such a talented artist across a variety of media including pottery and glass silver and resin jewellery. We purchased some espresso cups 3 years ago and loved them so much we came back this year to purchase more pieces and they are just fantastic. Beautiful pieces and very well priced and the artist Louise is a delight to... More

This gallery is my favourite place in Kununurra, real special mementos of your time in the Kimberly. Pottery, totem poles, glass ware, jewellery and unique coffee mugs! Actually everything there is unique!

I came across Birdland Art on a trip around Australia. The gallery is a hidden gem; the work by Louise is excellent, as is her enthusiasm in taking the time to describe the inspiration behind the peices. If you are in the area and haven't checked out Birdland, I would recommend checking out the gallery and having a chat with... More

Being hand-made, every piece is unique and beautifully done, she has everything from bright and bold dining plates, bowls, and mugs, to gorgeous glass plates, and vases. There... More

It has always amazed me how Birdland Functional Art has sprung forth this small outback town. The creator, Louise Sass, is a highly talented, uncompromising, versatile artist whose brain seems to constantly be on overdrive with new ideas and creations. Her shop, situated below the rocks of Mirima National Park, is highly professional, yet warm and funky and interesting. You... More

We discovered 'Birdland' tucked away in the industrial area when we were looking for a mechanic and couldn't have been more surprised. A huge range of interesting and fun pieces you would expect to find in Melbourne or Sydney, and everything made in Kununurra. I now have a fabulous teapot and Kimberley mugs that I will use and treasure forever!... More

Rarely do you come across a gallery with truly outstanding ceramics & jewelley, but "Birdland" is such a place. Small, but very well presented, this is a gallery not to be missed. Colours, style & true craftsmanship put these pieces at the top of their class. Well done.
