So relaxing this time of year. No crowds. Morning beach walks followed by relaxing by the pool with a cool drink & book is what I love best. The meandering footpath between beach & road passes under palm trees & is an equally enjoyable option to the sandy beach walk. There is an island offshore. Absolutely beautiful, peaceful & serene

Don't be fooled as Cairns does not have any sandy beaches at all, only mud from the continuing dredging of Trinity Inlet. You can see the extent of the mud cloud in the water when you fly in to the airport. If you want that true beach feel to your holiday go the extra 20 kms north to Palm Cove... More

This so relaxing to lay on the beach here -- especially if you have a hotel room across the road. These plenty to do on the beach -- or nothing if you want. Support the local surf lifesaving club

Great Cafes, Restaurants and Surf Clubs. This area services the people on a budget and others that prefer to spend a lot. Great Bar-B-Que areas on the beach. Netted swimming area for people requiring the extra security.

Great beach even though we could only swim in the netted area due to stingers. Lovely breeze and palm tree fringed beach. Delicious restaurants and evening walks and it's such a relaxed atmosphere.

beautiful clean beach, lovely esplanade for safe walking when you are on high heels. This beach is one of the most beautiful in Australia...signs are everywhere about recent croc sightings.

The beach is beautiful and well kept. The streets were well maintained and the landscaping lovely 😊 The shops and cafes were limited and prices for most things including everyday items are not so competitive. Make sure you bring what you need as buying cosmetics or anything else seems to have a premium added. The restaurants were pricey for what... More

Lovely village atmosphere, great restaurants, beautiful patrolled and netted beach. You can while away your evenings fishing off the jetty and chatting to the locals who are very friendly. Highly recommended and very much missed.
