Decided to do the coast drive from here in Cannonvale, through Airlie Beach, to Shute Harbour. A pleasant drive, through Airlie Beach and on to Shute Harbour. After cyclone Debbie, the damage is all too clear. So sad to see beautiful yachts so high up,...More

A quick bus trip from Airlie Beach. Beautiful views of the habour from the lookout. Other than that, there's nothing to do (no shops for coffee etc) as it was all devastated by Cyclone Debbie. Think you can still do a kayak tour or something...More

Spending a week at the Boathaven Spa, the view from the room has been the beautiful Shute Harbour. Its been delightful waking up every day, and walking along the streets then down to the harbour, across the sandy shores. Taking time to sit , relax...More

Visited here as it was the starting point for another tour. The whole place is destroyed. It's worth checking out just to see how hard Cyclone Debbie hit the area. We were told the whole place was being torn down and rebuilt. Give it a...More

This was a pretty sad sight - the destruction from the recent cyclone has closed the Harbour and left the buildings unusable . Boats smashed onto the shore along with the owners dreams! Given time I am sure this little spot will return to its...More

Shute harbor has the potential to be one of the coolest areas in the Whitsundays but needs some very serious love after TC Debbie knocked it around.

What a paradise we stumbled upon while driving around Airlie. Words really cannot describe the awesomeness. One must experience it themselves, but hey don' tell too many people or it may be exploited and spoiled. Keep this treasure natural, please.

Just wondering what else you can do on foot around Airlie Beach. We are doing an ocean rafting experience for four hours until about 12.30 and would like something else to do before boarding the cruise ship.

There is not a whole lot to do actually. Have a coffee or go for a walk on the beach board walk which follows the beach line. There are lots of little Cafes on the walk. Enjoy😀
