Great experience but hard work. Worth the experience and the million steps. Very rewarding. A must do for the physically fit.

No.1 tip, go as early as possible and beat the crowds, it's a massively different experience when you're not surrounded by hoards of tourists. You can have two very different experiences on the Giant Stairway. Usually decided by how fit you are and the state of knees and hips. Having done the walk both ways (starting from Echo point going... More

This was a great experience to do the Giant Stairway. There can be a lot of people but it still is great to do. Love the views from the stairway!

We had intended getting out of the gorge by taking the "Scenic Railway" but decided against it when we saw that it was just a funicular railway. The only way up, therefore, was to climb "The Giant Stairway", which was somewhat daunting after a long walk. We soon realised that it wasn't as difficult as anticipated and the views were... More

Do it at your own pace, you get to see the Three Sisters close up. It is steep, but there are handrails

Fantastic views from this amazing stairway but a little scary in places. They become very steep in some areas although extremely sturdy and well maintained. Definitely had sore leg and calf muscles the next day and only one person wide in some spots. Would not even consider and uphill climb of these stairs unless you were extremely fit.

The lady at the info centre recommended us a route, which we followed to a T. We didn't realise it meant that we finished with walking up this beast after a solid five hours of traversing the valley. It was HORRIBLE but SO WORTH IT. Climbing the three flights of stairs to my apartment now seems like a piece of... More

Whew! Just descending to ams ascending from the first level was a slight workout. But what a great alternative view of the Jameson Valley. Loved the up close and personal encounter with Meenhi of the Three Sisters.

Bear in mind that this stairway gets steep and narrow in parts - not to mention crowded, at least in the section leading down to the Three Sisters. Beyond that you'll find you have most of it to yourself. Remember that every step you take further down will be another one you have to take to get back up again!

Best feeling to be in this rides after a long 2 hours of walking to cross the mountains. Will make you feel better as soon as you reach the top and have a meal at the restaurant. Only issues are so much flies!!! Seems like they followed all of us even if you're not eating. Even it's windy but these... More
