GUIDED 4WD ADVENTURE TOUR
My husband and I cannot recommend this tour enough.
We got to see so many unique spots that we otherwise would never be able to get to on our own. Paul is extremely knowledgeable and he made sure we had a fantastic time.
We were collected from our hotel and headed to a beautiful bakery where we chose our sandwiches and drinks for lunch. These were packed into the esky at the back of the Landrover.
Then we set off. What a journey! The most inhospitable terrain was no problem – I was glad I was sitting in the back and not driving- Paul wasn’t fazed by anything. He navigated through whatever lay ahead – water, over rocks, down deeply scarred tracks which had been washed away by rains – not even roads in some places! Such skill from Paul, great fun to be a passenger! Crazy video to watch later!
We loved getting to the plateau overlooking the rocky pagoda-like structures. Such an amazing place to be. After retracing our steps, we then headed towards the Wollemi National Park through a tunnel which used to have trains going through. We stopped for lunch on the other side of this, near to pagoda rock formations – they were lining the roadway.
Then we set off for the Glow Worm Tunnels in the Wiradjuri area of the Wolgan Valley. There was a short walk from the car park to an information board showing the route to the tunnel. Once we were inside, Paul told us to turn off the torches. At first, nothing could be seen. Once our eyes had become accustomed to the darkness, tiny lights appeared all over the walls and ceiling – looking like a tiny Christmas Village! An amazing spectacle to witness.
We headed back towards Katoomba after this. Stopping at Blacktown to see the Wind eroded Cave and Anvil Rock. We would never have found this area on our own. Well worth a visit and not advertised anywhere on the tourist information leaflets or maps.
Thank you Paul for taking us to the most amazing sights during our day with you. Thank you for sending us the photos too - they were incredible.
