Unfortunately it was very windy when we went to check it out so we didn't go swimming but there were some brave enough! There is a netted area but everyone was swimming outside them! Signs warn of stingers and crocs, I wouldn't risk it!

There are many beaches on the coast between Cairns and Port Douglas. For me, Palm Cove was too over-developed. Clifton Beach was very pretty, and relatively quiet, but with no Lifesavers. Trinity Beach appeals to me because although the Esplanade that runs the length of...More

Great beach to swim at. Plenty of shade and a nice grassed strip to sit. There are cafes and a tavern along the street, plus a playground, public facilities and free parking.

As the others said, no problem if you follow the warnings and obey the signs. I understand that normally the crocs would only be found in the creek way down the beach form the supervised area anyway.

Yes, like all the beaches near Cairns, Trinity has a stinger net during the stinger season from November to May, and the nets are usually deployed a week or so before November. The closest point for boats that will take you... More
