The Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre can assist you with accommodation & tour bookings, Parks Passes, maps, fishing licences and itinerary planning. Open 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm (winter hours may vary). We also house the Yarns Artwork in Silk and Deloraine Folk Museum attractions. I just visited the information centre to see the YARNS Artwork in Silk and was not disappointed. The presentation/commentary was fantastic and you would miss much without it. There is time to take photos at the end but do it quickly because the lights go...More

Deloraine is on the way to Cradle Mountain from Launceston. A fantastic place to stop with many cafes, the visitors Centre was very helpful with maps and information. A statue of Malua a Melbourne Cup winner is in Town.

We stopped for a local map and in addition received very helpful advice about closed roads and tracks all annotated for easy reference.

The Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre houses the "Yarns Artwork in Silk"; the "Deloraine & Districts Folk Museum"; and the "Malua Memorial". There is a small fee to see the Artwork and the Museum, but definitely worth it. Staff friendly and very helpful. Would recommend...More

we were helped with our road map to get south across the Western Tiers country to Ross. We do have a GPS but good to have local knowledge about quality of the roads & conditions
