This little cafe/restaurant has the best setting in the Gardens overlooking the lake.. The staff are friendly and if the weather is good magic.. however.. you must be creative here when ordering.. Ask for the menu if you want cake.. they are on there and delish.. but otherwise it will be brownie or biscuits from the jar and nothing else..... More

We visited the Botanical Garden around 3:30 in the afternoon and parked our car facing Lake Colac. A nice stroll to the garden with well arranged and manicured surroundings. Very quiet and relaxing. We went back to the car to have our snacks and drinks while enjoying nature. You may also see a big group of Pelicans on the water.... More

When we called into Colac for dinner we followed the signs to the lake & the gardens. It was a bit late to stay, so we returned on Sunday morning.and loved it. The gardens are peaceful, well laid out and very pretty. We walkwd through, down to Lake Colac. Great walk, saw pelicans, flying foxes and a whistling kite ...bonus.... More

We purchased fish and chips for lunch from Apollo Seafoods traditional greek style fish and chippery, and decided we would eat them in the park. It is a quiet and relaxing place to eat, the gardens are beautiful and we sat overlooking Lake Colac. A wonderful place for lunch.

When in Colac make your way north to the Colac Botanic Gardens, fifteen hectares of lush garden beautifully maintained a credit to their gardeners. Located on the banks of Lake Colac. Apart from the beautiful walking area within the gardens there is ample space to find a quiet corner and picnic. With BBQs near the childrens playground and adjoining a... More

Perfect for a stroll with kids in prams oldies or any age really.. Paths smooth and easily walked, mostly flat.. There is a road and cars were driving through the gardens as well, which I thought was a bit odd when I was giving junior time out of the pram.. But saves walking, I guess. Easy parking and wonderful vista... More

We came here on the recommendation of the folks at the Colac Visitory Information Centre. It was well worth it! We'd seen many gardens already in our trip to Australia, but this was very impressive on this beautiful day. It was a weekday afternoon, which helped, as there were very few people enjoying the gardens. It is quite a nice... More
