Dairy farmers Julian and Dianne Benson launched Apostle Whey Cheese on October 29, 2005. Since that day, Apostle Whey Cheese has taken out a number of major cheese awards and become an important tourism drawcard for the region. Just a short drive from the Twelve Apostles and the Great Ocean Road, Apostle Whey Cheese is a genuine paddock to plate operation.

the cheese here is excellent. The staff knows their products well and the tasting was great. We ended up getting some milk, cheese and a cheese platter. Well worth the visit. But check the date of expiry. One of us caught us by surprise as it was only for a couple of weeks.

Thank you for your review and I would like to address the issue of expiry date. All foods have a best by date ,that refers to what we believe to be the best time to eat it beyond that the cheese in this case will only get stronger in flavor and is still good to eat , it's always best to... More

Our family of four loves cheese and Apostle Whey cheese satisfied our cravings. Very friendly, informative and personal cheese tasting experience. The shop is part of the Gourmet Trail and not too far away from TGOR. We love the garlic cheese and the Brie. Already recommended to most of our family and friends.

Beautiful, friendly staff took us through a tasting of the delicious cheeses. Ranging from cheddars, blues and soft cheeses. We purchased a magical garlic cheese! Yummy! They also offer creamy local milk with flavour if added if you choose - these were RAVED about from people in our group! You just have to go - follow the Gourmet Food Trail!... More

Free (nibble) tasting of 12 of their cheeses for all visitors. They also have cow milking demonstration at 4pm daily. However, I felt that given the detour required, unless you were a huge cheese fan, it wouldn't be worth going. You can pick up some cheeses, but they are expensive (small camembert for $9). They also serve home made ice... More

It was raining on our first day at the great ocean road and we decided to visit the gourmet trail at Timboon instead of trying to see the rock formation and battle the rain by the sea. So glad we did that! The drive around Timboon was relatively easy with clear signs and short distances between attractions and we even... More

Stopped in after visiting the Twelve Apostles, we were very tired and hungry after a long drive from Sydney! We were offered free cheese tasting the staff were nice and friendly and the cheese was amazing. We ordered a cheese platter which came with olives, pickles, chutney and crackers and tasted immense! Great value for money and such an interesting... More

This was one of our last stops on the 12 apostles gourmet trail. The shop was beautifully clean. The staff were super friendly and informative. They had a great selection of cheeses to taste and buy. The kids (10 & 11) loved it. They also suggested the kids might like to see the cows being milked while they were there.

Enjoyed the quirky sculptures including the Loch Ness Moo. Very windy on arrival but disabled access was good and as sheltered as possible. The cheese tasting was great. Finally decided on the garlic cheese and the brie. This attraction is close to Gorge Chocolates. Another great place to visit.

Staffs were friendly and gave us a detailed sample of all their cheeses. I personally liked the blue and chili cheeses!
