Pick up the informative brochure (and a free bottle of the holy water, if so inclined), have a look around and down under and that's about it. Nice sturdy reconstruction of the monastery surrounded by a pretty square and a 600-year old sycamore fig.

Despite being surrounded by clubs and restaurants this is a little slice of serenity in the heart of Ayia Napa.

Well worth a visit if you're in the town of Ayia Napa. Sadly the monastery is not used by the monks anymore but it has been faithfully preserved and maintained well.

A rare free attraction. Very small monastry in centre of Ayia Napa. A lot of history involved. Beautiful small chapel and gift shop

A silent place with nice roof paintings. Worth a visit when you are in town. A place to remember for long time.

Very nice little bit of island history flanked by the party town on every side. This is a free historical site and is quite a relaxed place that is kept well.

My concern is touring in the area and getting through any checkpoints that I will encounter around Famagusta and Ayios Nikolaos area. I used to reside in the area in 1974 / 1975. I loved the place and even though things have changed can I get back? Watson
