Josue was the very best guide. We learned so much about native habitat and animal life. Was the best part of our vacation.

The boat tour we had, guided by Carlos and ably skippered by the captain, was our number one nature experience in sixteen days of Costa Rica. We saw boas, crocs, all three species of monkeys, and myriad birds. Carlos is a knowledgeable and skilled guide whose own fascination with nature is palpable. By all means, book this tour if you're in the area.

Super day out snorkelling at Cano Isle. Exciting boat ride out through the mangroves with some widlife spotting along the way, then two sessions snorkelling, seeing many colourful fish, including sharks and also turtles. Our guide Oscar was very knowledgeable and informative enjoyable and good company. A short break on the island was interesting then the lunch break on the way back to Sierpe was very enjoyable in a beautiful place. A super day out all round.

If you are looking for the best and funniest experience with guides and captains they know how to see monkeys, crocodiles, boas, lizards and so many birds including aras or bats, book a tour. James was great - the Irish man in Costa Rica with a bunch of interesting side facts about almost everything.

This trip to Corcovado Park was wonderful. Carlos, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the park and the Sierpe River. We took a boat from Sierpe up the river. The 45-minute boat ride was very pleasant. On our way, we saw white faced monkeys, and the captain pulled the boat over so we could get a good view and pictures. We then proceeded to the ocean, where we cruised about 40 minutes more to Corcovado. In the park, we saw more white faced monkeys, spider monkeys, an anteater, beautiful birds, bats, lizards, and more. There was a longish hike, followed by lunch by the beach, followed by a second shorter walk and then back on the boat. On our way back on the river, we saw two sloths! It was our most memorable experience in Costa Rica. The staff were all wonderful, kind and helpful. We highly recommend. Thank you!

We did the mangrove tour by boat and it was amazing. We were scheduled to leave at 11am but were half an hour early. This was no problem and we did not have to wait. We were greeted by our guide James and the captain (sorry I forgot his name). Just one minute into the tour and we already saw crocodiles. As we hab a boat that was square like a ponton we could move freely and could see everything. We saw way more animals than we did in all of the nationalparks togehter. James told us a lot about the flora and fauna and he and the captain spotted so many animels. It was just amazing.
We were there 3 hours and we did not regret one minute of the tour. I would do it again.

Our tour was fantastic! When you go, ask for “James”! He was our tour guide and is a hilarious man! He knows a Tonne about the wetlands/mangroves and has a particular interest in plants, as well.

James was able to really help us find the animals and made sure we were able to see them. He, with the driver named Felix, brought us to spots where we were able to see more rare wildlife (in particularly birds) which are difficult to find.

We were able to see:
- crocodiles, including a baby one
- a large array of birds, including Scarlett macaws!!
- boas (snakes)
- howler and white-face monkeys in troops.
- turtles
- bats
- a couple of crabs in the mangrooves (totally unsure what type they were)

The tour itself was pleasant and the driver (Felix) made sure it was smooth and comfortable. It lasted 3 hours and we got to see mangrooves, wetlands, some old infrastructure from the Banana Company days.

Oh, and lastly James gave us some cool places to check out later. Which we did and were also nice!

My girlfriend and I were here in June to tour the mangroves and had a fantastic experience! We came down from Uvita originally planning to kayak, but due to particularly strong currents the good people at La Perla del Sur recommended we tour by motor boat instead for an easier and safer experience. This was thoughtful, and made the experience amazing!

The tour guide and captain took us up and down the river and helped us see every animal imaginable. We saw capuchin, squirel, and howler monkeys, snakes, toucans, other rare birds, sloths, caymen, crocodiles, and so much more!

This place was awesome and I would highly recommend a tour La Perla de Sur to anyone in the Osa area!
