A couple of friends and I decided to book a tour with Isla Cañas Tours to visit Isla Iguana. Our tour was set up for Sunday at 9:30am. Since we were staying in Las Tablas that weekend, we drove to Pedasí and arrived in 30 minutes. We met with our tour guide, Blanca, at a gas station and then drove... More

The island is beautiful, however, it seems that people don't take much care of it. Despite of the sign prohibiting littering, there was garbage in many places. The boat trip costs $60 (for up to 6 people). You should register at your arrival to the island and pay the entry fee. There are a lot of crabs in the island,... More

Isla Iguana is a small gem of a national park just offshore from Playa Arenal, Pedasi Small but beautiful white sand beach and waters that remind me of the Caribbean, the beach is on the (usually) lee side of the island out of the winds... A very calm swim or snorkel like a bathtub!! Boat ride to and from the... More

If you are in Pedasi for a few days then you shoiuld definitley take a trip out to Isla Iguana. The boat ride is affordable ($70 per party round trip) and is about 30 minutes long. The island has a short hike connecting the two sides of the island and the iguanas and hermit crabs are all over the place,... More

The island is home to a colony of fregat birds and they couldn't care less if you come around to visit them and take pictures. The beach is filled with thousands of hermit crabs. Behind the beach, green and black lizards come and greet you. And the sea is full of colourful fish. And besides of all that, there is... More

We paid $60 for a boat from Arenal beach, and $10 each entry fee to the island. So worth it! We swam with shoals of about 50 fish, each at least half a metre in size! So many different types, and all so big too! If you're a fan of snorkelling, definitely do this! A little tip, buy a polystyrene... More

We took a 30 minute boat ride over to the island for the day. We packed a lunch and spent the day snorkeling and hiking around the island. When we arrived early in the morning, we were the only ones there. By the time we left in the afternoon, 19 other boats had come in. It was well worth the... More

Loved the trip to the island where we spent a peaceful day snorkeling and swimming and exploring and relaxing under the trees on the beach. Our trip included snorkeling equipment, sandwiches and cool drinks and water. The island is near pristine and lots of corals and fish can be seen.
