Well we may be sitting in the Andrew Johns Stand in a Corporate box but all the entertainment is facing the other stand - absolutely terrible and very disappointing. Couldn't see anything. Just awful.

My son & I returned here last Sunday for the football. We attended from the City by public transport. No problems at all getting to, or home from, the ground. The stadium itself is a great one too. Free program upon entering, reasonable prices for 'footy food', plenty of toilets, and opportunity to purchase merchandise if you so choose. Good... More

Facilities are good and clean with easy parking. There was a wait on food and the prices are high. Don't bring water bottles as you will not be able to bing in.

We went to the Hunter Stadium (AKA McDonald Jones Stadium - made it difficult to program the GPS as it couldn't find Hunter Stadium!) to watch Newcastle Jets against Sydney FC in a Hyundai A-League soccer match (as the Australians call it). It was a pleasant night of sport, preceded by a fly past (three Jets flew over the ground),... More

I went to Hunter Stadium to watch the Newcastle Jets & Sydney FC battle it out in the Hyundai A-League. We arrived 15 mins before kick-off and the crowds to purchase tickets on arrival were insane, I was so happy that we pre-purchased tickets Once entering the stadium, my girlfriend and I went straight to the food venue and ordered... We went here to watch our beloved Rabbitohs play Newcastle Knights. It was a great atmosphere and venue. The crowd was great and everyone we met was cheerful and friendly. The Newcastle supports are one of the best and we look forward to coming back again.

Watched NRL and Oz/NZ test. For the NRL, hundreds of people still lining up for tickets when the game had kicked off. Buying tickets should be a very quick process. I have no idea why it took so long per person but by the time we got in, got a beer, and got a seat, we had missed nearly 10... More

I went to the Anzac Test with a bunch of friends to watch the Kiwis and Kangaroos. As soon as we entered we were surprised at the enormous line up for drinks. In the grandstand we were in there was only one bar open. One of our guys missed 20 mins of the game waiting for a round of drinks!... More

Hunter Stadium, by Australian standards, is a solid venue for watching rectangle sports (league, union, football etc). The new stands are well equipped, comfortable and provide pretty good views. Accessibility seems quite good for disabled persons and getting in and out is no more or less difficult than coming out of any other major sports venue - and they usually... More
