Up from the hill where you find the castle and the cathedral you have a wonderful view other the city of Prague! The castle is beautiful and very romantic, there are many nice places to just stay standing for a minute and enjoy the ambiance!

This complex of buildings is a must see while in Prague. You can wander around the complex free of charge but it's worth buying a ticket to see the impressive interiors of some of the buildings such as the cathedral. Great views across Prague. Because of security checks you will need to queue to get in but the line moves... More

The castle and the buildings are fantastic. The alchemist street with the defense building is fantastic. Perfect panoramic view of Praha from the castle and the church inside the castle is gorgeous.

While the buildings and architecture of the area are without doubt magnificent, I had to queue for 40 minutes on a Saturday morning to enter the compound itself due to security checks. By the time I had left, shortly after midday, the queue was half the length in fairness. Once inside, there is a fee to enter the Basilica, and... More

The architecture is maybe the best I have seen anywhere in the world. I could have stayed looking at all the intricate details for hours. Get there early before the mobs of people

There are different bands of tickets to enter the castle. We paid for a band B and was about £12. The churches inside the castle are beautiful, lots to do so be prepared to spend a day there and Also to walk miles! Different areas inside the castle grounds so really interesting. Well worth a visit.

Went to visit the castle and whilst it's along trek up it's worth it for the views of Prague alone! We went on a weekday so queues were smaller than on a weekend! There was a range of different tickets but the B circuit took in enough of what we wanted to see! Well worth seeing if your in Prague... More

It is a must see place in prague. There is a long way upstairs to the castle which is also beautiful. Top view of the prague is gorgeous. The castle complex and st vita are exceptional.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
