View of the city. but you can get that at the Old Town Bridge Tower too and the views there are better. Lots of steps to climb.

Late gothic tower in much the original state. The associated ramparts are now gone so it stands alone amongst more modern buildings. The entrance is at the base of one of the legs and you purchase tickets on the first floor so you get to climb to a central room for free. Going all the way to the top is... More

Between old and Republic place, if you want, you can visit this nice Powder Tower, many stairs to climb, but you will have a superb view over Prague.

90Kć for a good view and exercises (climbing the stairs) is quite worth it considering you literally have the whole viewing area to yourself... no pushy crowd up/down the stairs or fighting for good picture-taking spots. Read the review about this place before visiting; what stands out for me - less crowd!! As a matter of fact - hardly any.... More

This as others have said, is a great landmark by which to get your bearings as you explore the city. Within walking distance of pretty much all the other landmarks and areas you will wish to visit, I must have walked through it dozens of times on my way around the city. I am told that it is possible to... More

A most impressive defensive tower, strategically placed and one of the best landmarks in the city. All roads seem to come back to it from one direction or another.

I hadn't realised that after the initial climb up the spiral stairs, narrow at first, then wider, what an unbelievable view of the old town could be seen at the very top of the tower. It was a freezing cold day so we had to take care of the ice and snow around the top. Well worth the climb and... More

As you walk around the city the powder tower is a useful landmark to get your bearings . Unusual in that it is joined to more modern buildings and also contains the Powder Gate

The Powder Tower offers lovely views of Prague, but you have to brave the somewhat treacherous staircase in order to enjoy them. Be sure to wear stable shoes for the walk up. In winter, the bottom stairs become quite slick as they are covered in ice and snow. Also, at the top, the little stairs to step down and walk... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
