So many visitors to the Czech Republic rarely venture very far from Prague. This is sad because the Republic is full of wonderful little towns, and one them Telc. This beautifully restored UNESCO site is a joy to wander as I have found on several...More

This large old city square has been restored with UNESCO funds and is quite pretty to look at. It's also a good place for photography. There are several churches which are only open to tourists in summer as well as an old chateau. Other than...More

Telč remains in historical preservation, the storefronts, buildings are charming. From what I understand, Telč square serves as a precursor for the square you find in Prague.

Very pretty little area loaded with shops and cafes. Looks like a movie set. We stopped here with a tour group primarily for the free public wc's and a chance to get some great ice cream. If you are driving by on the way to...More

The Czech Republic boasts numerous city centers with beautiful architecture; the large central square of Telc ranks among the finest of the dozens of cities we've visited there over the years. In fact, the buildings are so beautiful that souvenir stores will sell replica models...More

Huge central square, surrounded by beautiful buildings, decorated with Sgrafito or has-relief styles. This was the prettiest central square we saw in the Czech Republic. Recommended!

Really nice square, beautiful houses. And that's pretty much it. A pity they allow cars parking in the square. The restaurants (italian, mexican) and cafes have a feel of tourist trap. The toy shop is worth a visit to get transported decades back in time....More

Walking from the car park a few hundred yards away, through the old town gate, nothing prepares you for what you are about to as you reach the baroque fronted buildings that surround the square. The cloistered walk has a number of shops, bars, cafes...More

Fantastic spot to stop and catch your breath. Don't miss the walk around the lake, a fantastic spot to stop and best coffee is Cafe/Hotel Telc 20 m off the main square. Gorgeous little shops to browse through and great cycling for the more active.

I went by bus from Florenz bus terminal. It took about 3 hours. (Along the way, there was a bathroom break)
