I can't imagine visiting Terezin with anyone but Pavel. He's a storyteller that brings every room and every event to life with his unique knowledge of the history of the people and the place that is Terezin.

My husband and I strongly recommend Pavel Batel to be your next tour guide of Terezin. The historian has interviewed dozens of survivors and written various books on the Holocaust. If you want a in depth look into the victims of Terezin and a passionate guide who feels it is his responsibility to educate, look no further. He is absolutely... More

By far the best thing I experienced while visiting Prague. While visiting the camp on your own is surely impactful, I highly recommend you hire Pavel as a guide. He is so incredibly knowledgeable. Definitely the best guide I have ever toured with - you will not be disappointed.

We spent a day with Pavel Batel touring Terezin. He is a wealth of knowlege and his tour is superb. We travelled with our 20 year old daughter and it was a real eye-opener learning about the horrific events that took place here not too long ago. Don't miss this experience. Can't say enough about Pavel

My husband and two sons (ages 24 and 22) toured Terezin with Pavel Batel It was excellent day from start to finish. Pavel is a dedicated and highly knowledgeable guide who is able to make this sobering tour an amazing experience. Terezin was unique among the camps and the extent of the Nazi's physical and psychological abuse is hard to... More

Take your own tour. Inside the fortress just after the entry is a small ship selling guides in lots of different languages. This gives a good picture of the horror from the past. Unbelievable what people can do to each other.

Recently took a day trip to Terezin with the tour guide Brian Stewart. He was fabulous and very knowledgeable , passionate and informative about Terezin and Prague. I thoroughly recommend him and we enjoyed our day immensely despite the solemn past of this barbaric history.

We took a private tour of Terezin with Pavel Batel. There are no words to express what an amazing guide he is. He is a dedicated historian with a passion for educating people about the story of Terezin--and his own personal story will blow you away, so be sure to ask him how he got into this! He picked us... Unique amongst German concentration and death camps, Teresienstadt stands out because of its historical background and physical structures going dating back several hundred years and the propaganda purposes for which the German government used it. Namely, as a sham "model camp." Wittmann's day long excursion from Prague is highly recommended. I'd suggest bringing a sandwich for lunch.

I am a university professor in the U.S. who annually brings students to Germany and the Czech Republic to study policing and social control during the 3rd Reich. For the past three years I have included the Theresienstadt ghetto and former concentration camp in my itinerary. This is a full-day experience for me and my 10 students; and I only... More
