It is difficult to describe this place, since it is very interesting but yet scary, awfull and it makes you sick to your stomach. But I would say that I think everyone should visit a place like this at least once in your life. It gives you some perspective and some things to think about. And definitely in times like... More

It is a tragic part of history but one that needs to be understood and no better than to see it first hand and understand what people went through. Walking through the Auschwitz provides a glimpse of what transpired but no one can really understand the horrors that occurred here although there is sufficient evidence.

We chose the one where tickets are being sold rather at the main entrance. Tickets : Now this is the tricky part; when we were in Krakow and... More

The Auschwitz I concentration camp is the remaining of the main camp with a museum and many stone buildings. It is alarming that at first site this camp has a lovely impression. In the other nearby camp Auschwitz II-Birkenau, which was the extermination camp, I did not have this impression. Also after seeing in the museum thousands of shoes, suitcases,... More

A two hour train ride from Krakow and well worth the visit, it will move you so be prepared. You can do the guided tour, but we did it ourselves so we weren't being rushed around and saved a lot of money. Heres how to do it....get the train or bus early from Krakow main bus or train station (bus... More

For Jewish history it's worth two hours or more. The small entrance fee is worth while. It's close to center of square
