At the Stained Glass museum, my friend and I learned about Matejko so when I learned that he had a museum I wanted to go. My friend bowed out but I headed there and was pleasantly surprised that the museum was free. The museum is on three floors of the house that The artist was born in and then later... More

Hard to locate as not much of a sign but well worth a visit if you have an hour to spare. Go for the lovely portraits Jan Matjko painted but also for the house. He lived here most of his life and there's quite a lot of original and quite amazing old furniture. He also collected religious robes and torture... More

If you have marveled at the works of Jan Matejko, you will not want to miss this museum in the house where he was born, lived, painted and died. It is a fabulous small museum and very easy to miss walking on ul Florianska. I visited on Sunday, when the museum is free, and there were very few people there.... More

He was born, lived with his family and died in this house. Very unassuming building on one of Krakov's main tourist streets yet is always very quiet. People don't know what they are missing. It is free on a Tuesday and regardless of that well worthy of a visit. Full of family memorabilia and a great collection of his own... More

The house of Jan Matejko is located in Florianka street in Krakow. Matejko was probably the most important painter of Poland. He painted many historical scenes that can be enjoyed both in Warsaw and Krakow museums, including some of them here. The house of Matejko and furniture are very well preserved. It worth a visit if you are interested in... More

It's very easy to miss this place, as I myself did several times. I suspect that, like me, most visitors simply barrel along full tilt northward towards St. Florian's Gate and don't even notice this fine old building at 41 Florianska. This is a building worth visiting not only for what it currently houses but also for its historical significance.... More

I had free entrance on Tuesday. Nice place, some history about famous Polish painter and excellent pieces of art. He was born there, he lived there as a child and then with his own family, at the end he died there. All these places are shown as well as some personal staff,

Town house of Jan Matejko with very well preserved 19th century furnishings and the artists personal studio, Some drawings, pastels and art pieces by the artist himself are on display as well as personal effects. Worth a while if you're a fan of art or want to familiarise yourself with this great painter
