This is a fascinating place, Prussian in terms of the fabric of the building, but very much old Polish in terms of the market stalls. The entrance to the market was one the last places German soldiers surrendered to the Red Army in April 1945....More

If you're looking for fresh produce, Hala Targowa is a good place to go. I was surprised that vendors sell everything from fruits and vegetables to meats, cheeses, coffee and sweets (including pączki, Polish doughnuts). Prices were very reasonable, although I found the coffee quite...More

Definitely for locals, not necessarily a tourist place. A step back into the early 1970's in both atmosphere and products.

This is the place were locals do their shopping. A second floor offers some old fashioned style shops , but don't be fooled by their "Soviet" look - we found very good bargains on shoes, clothes and polish souvenires.

This is a nice place to get fresh produce. There were a number of different vendors so one could shop around.
