Definately worth a stroll around this district - there are some lovely buildings and little courtyards and it has a more relaxed ambience than the old town and feels a bit more real.

See it from the river side first, then get inside, see Aula Leopoldina, Concert Hall, staircases. Then you can wonder around small streets squeezed between many spectacular baroque structures...

Since 1700, it is the main center of higher education in Central Europe. It was a great learning center of German-speaking countries until territorial changes of World War II.

This is such a beautiful building. There are a couple of restaurants just across the river so if you go there you will get stunning views of the building at night. It's only 5-10 minutes walk from the market square.
