- Rye BPoznan, Poland24 contributionsOne of the Best City Squares in Poland!I've visited over a dozen town squares/centers throughout Poland and this one might actually be the best. It's most definitely Top 2--the other being the square in Krakow. There are gnomes everywhere, which makes it for a good fun time. There were local vendors set up selling crafts and merchandise. Lots of restaurants to dine at. The City Hall is ornate and wonderfully constructed in and of itself, is worth the visit. The buildings are very colorful and you can get a swell, elevated view of the square from the tower at Saint Elisabeth's Church. If you're in Wroclaw visit this square!Visited March 2023Written 26 March 2023
- Richard MHampstead Norreys, United Kingdom871 contributionsOne of the most beautiful places i have beenThe whole main square was a glorious technicoloured experience. The buildings are amazing and stunning in their architecture. There are fountains and dwarves to see. Everywhere there are restaurants and places for rest in the summer heat. Just a stunning location.Visited July 2023Written 23 July 2023
- VickyLargsLargs, United Kingdom173 contributionsA gem!So colourful and lively, with thoughtfully restored buildings, lots of restaurants, fountains, street entertainers, it has its soul which you will fall in love with! I’ve not seen a square which will have buildings with little alleys in the centre anywhere else. Simply stunning!Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 23 July 2023
- FTMDaveAdria, Italy6,794 contributionsOut of this worldThe square is enormous. It even has huge buildings in the middle with alleyways between them. In fact initially I thought the central palaces marked one side of the square, I hadn't realised they were in the middle and the square stretched on beyond! The coloured painted buildings are wonderful. Full of shops, bars, ice-cream shops, restaurants, etc., as well as the gorgeous Gothic town hall among the central structures.Visited August 2023Travelled soloWritten 29 August 2023
- Marie P1 contributionWrocław Christmas Market VisitWhat an awesome visit to Wrocław and vicinity this December!! My niece and I made a three day trip to Wrocław and our experience was beyond our expectations!! We stayed at Ibis Centrum and from there made an emotional and beautiful visit to my birthplace(and her dad’s) 100 km away( by train) and also spend a big chunk of our other days at the Christmas Market!! The size, the structures, the Christmas lights, the music and the mass of variety of vendors was amazing and unbelievable!! Of course local foods and drinks were a hit and we attempted to try several delicacies!!😅 We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this market. This Christmas market was one of the best and we had just finished visiting many along the Danube. Thank you Wrocław and Poland!!👏👏. I would vehemently recommend a visit to this city and to the Christmas Market. What a wonderful experience and many beautiful memories to treasure from our visit to Wrocław. ❤️🎄🎄Visited August 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 25 December 2023

Main old square of Wroclaw. Must be one of Europe's biggest old squares with beautiful buildings all around it. Beautiful during day and night.

A lovely historic square, full of bars and restaurants… it’s one of those places where you can sip a long cold beer and enjoy watch the locals come & go.

It is probably one of the nicest market squares in this part of Europe: plenty of space, nice architecture of surrounding buildings and many restaurants. We were unlucky with the weather as it was raining the whole day, nevertheless we enjoyed our visit to Wroclaw very much!

Hi, Francine. What would you like to know about this attraction?
What are the prices like to eat, buy gifts and go on the funfair rides please ?

For prices of food at the restaurants, look at Google maps for the city area you will be visiting. Restaurants will be shown on the map. Do a search on Google for the menus of some of those restaurants. You will then get an accurate picture of the amount to set aside for a meal of your liking. We found a plate of 8-9 pierogies (potato or fruit filled) usually was around 19-21 zloty.

The zoo is ok and I would also take them to the immigrants museum. It is good for kids and adults. Just remember my daughter was living in Wroclaw last December. It is cold and gray. So, just dress warmly. I would also suggest that you all have coats with hoods. The wind there will cut you in two. I hope that helps. Oh, another nice thing is they really don’t except Amex credit card. So, take a MC or Visa. But, it is cheap do to the exchange rate from Euro or US dollars.

Hi Charly
Please may I ask where about you stayed what hotel? I have prebooked(I can cancel) hotel Jasek but it seems quite far from the main hub of interest, what would you advise please, is transport easy to navigate or use of taxis inexpensive? TIA

Hi, past two years we've been staying in a lovely boutique hotel - Art Hotel Wroclaw, which is located in a centre, in a quiet street just off the market square. Great location and helpful staff. Taxis are inexpensive. We love it there!

Hi Sleeyduck
My 2 friends and I are planning on visiting Wroclaw in Sept - never been to Poland before and wonder if this area you visited would be more suitable, we are looking for a lively area, with restaurants, shops, places of interest etc. TIA for any responses.

Wroclaw is great! Lots of history, fab night life, lots of bars and restaurants and very good shopping! I'm sure you'll enjoy it! We've been there several time, next on the list is Krakow :) Also Gdansk is a place to go - gorgeous place. Fantastic in the summer, as it's a part of tri-city with fantastic beach resort Sopot next door! Amazing wide long beach! Enjoy your trip!
