Seeing this Monument to the Warsaw Uprising Fighters was very breathe taking for sure. It showed back in the 1940 the men fighting for their freedom. It is a must to see.

Really sad part of Polish history - in 1944 occupied Warsaw rose to fight against the Nazi corps and after 63 days of heavy fights Polish people were forced to give up. The monument commemorate their efforts to be free.

We saw this at the end of a walking tour in Warsaw. It pays tribute to those who rose up to fight for Independence but were crushed by the Germans who destroyed around 90% of the city.

Amazing likenesses of Warsaw freedom fighters. It is helpful if you visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum prior to visiting the Monument.

Worth a detour to see this group of statues representing the Home Army together with Eternal Flame. The Army Church opposite is also worth a visit - note the many military references in paint, glass and metal.

Huge and impressive monument, easy to walk to from old town and well worth a visit. If you're expecting the uprising museum here, don't, it's about a twenty minute walk away.

This monument is in a large and rather quiet plaza, which allowed us to take our time and reflect in near solitude.

Passed as we were exploring the city ourselves but unfortunately the museum was not open. The monument is nice but you could easily miss it as there is currently repair works going on nearby. Its a bit out of the city about 1.5 mile from...More
