It is central in the main square, but with all those restaurants, tables, umbrellas it is so busy and crowded. Especially in the weekend you cannot take a photo, just too many people , tourists

The mermaid is a symbol of warsaw. I found the monument in the center of the tourist restaurants in the old town square one of the less interesting monuments I saw in Warsaw. There is no cost, so its worth seeing if you are there....More

Not a huge statue but significant to the Polish and Warsaw so everyone takes their photo as they pass this statue. Can cool your feet in Fountain on a hot day

Find out the lore behind the mermaid. She has persisted through the centuries as a protector of the city.

There are numerous mermaid statues around Warsaw, they are the symbol of the city. The one in Old Town is nice, with a fountain base.

The Warsaw Mermaid statue in the center of the center of the old town of Warsaw is the Symbol of Warsaw appearing on the coat of arms of the city. The mermaid brandishes a sword and shield supposedly to defend the city from aggression.

A bronze statue in honour of the symbol of Warsaw; a mermaid who fell in love with the city and it's people, and now brandishes a sword and shield in defence of it.

As we walked through the old town square, we came across the statue of the Warsaw mermaid. Our tour guide told us one of the many legends surrounding the mermaid. There are several. After that, we did notice lots of mermaid-inspired goods in the shops....More

This bronze mermaid statue is located in the middle of the old town square. This has an interesting story to tell about goodness and why it stays in the town center.

I had to go see the symbol of Warsaw, the statue of the mermaid in the center of the old town. We even can find drawings of mermaids in some places in Warsaw. She's protecting the Warsaw residents.
