First of all, the view from the castle is spectacular, absolutely spectacular. The view alone is probably worth the admission fee, but if the view isn't enough, the small museum (included) is surprisingly well done. Usually these sort of small castle museums are mediocre and...More

Views are the major attraction. Castle wise it is not a great one. About an hours drive from Lbjubjana and hence great way to destress in the early evening.

The best part of Bled Castle is the view, hands down. There's a few things to see here, but the castle really is sold on the view, over the whole lake and the surrounding hills. The castle is interesting so don't let that put you...More

There is a nice vantage point from the castle to get good panaroma shots of Lake Bled below. I recommend only visiting if its a clear day, otherwise you might not get the scenic views of Bled. There is a set of relatively steep stairs...More

We visited on a grey miserable day, which gave the place a totally different perspective and kind of eerie atmosphere. I absolutely loved this place, the views were spectacular, I think the grey sky definitely added an additional element. The old castle built into the...More

It was a rather steep climb, but the views are well worth the effort. There are hand rails to assist. This is a very popular tourist attraction, and although it is off peak season, the site was still rather crowded. Once you reach the castle,...More

The view from the castle is amazing, and the place is very well maintained. No too much to do or spend time in, the museum is the biggest room and nice to walk around. The restaurant is VERY expensive but the wine cellar and print...More

It is a hike from the lake, but well worth it to see the views of the little city from a top the hill.

Il ristorante del castello sembra chic ma non conosco i prezzi. Si sul lungolago c'erano dei chioschi con bevande, cibi ed oggetti. Lubiana è a 80 km da Bled. Saluti.

You can book a table by telephoning the castle, where a member of staff will redirect you to the restaurant. The number can be found on the castle's website.

There is no free shuttle bus. If you have someone elderly I would recommend a taxi. They can be organised at the shop beside the tourist information in the main town. I did not know about the wine cellar. However, if you... More
