The Town Hall is located in the main Town Square near the cathedral. It was built in 1484 in Gothic style, but renovated between 1717-1719 to the current Baroque style. You can see the Venetian influence from the gable front and loggia and three part staircase. In the courtyard inside, which is arcaded on 3 levels, there is the Narcissus... More

Ljubljana's Town Hall is one of the most represantative examples of city's typical architecture, which is, I must admit, gorgeus. 'Magistrat' building is situated in the city centre, so you can't really miss it, and you shouldn't, because it's really magnificent.

Originally gothic building, than baroque renovation with some Venetian inspiration. Before all the weddings took place here, bu now they are at the castle. Next to the town hall is a beautiful replica fountain of Francesco Robba, the original is in National gallery.

This is an attractive old structure along the main street in the old town. Due to limited time on this visit I didn't go inside, but even from the outside it's still a pretty looking building.

We were surprised, and thrilled to find this beautiful, historic building open to the public when we arrived late on a Friday evening. We enjoyed learning about the many awards received by the city - and some of the incredible history. Thank you for so many great experiences in the beautiful and incredible city of Ljubljana. We will be back... More

Interesting building from the late 15th century with old Renaissance courtyard with frescoes. Check also the exhibitions (there are several spaces for them)! In the July 2016 there were very informative exhibition depicting how the big part of Ljubljana has been transformed into a car-free zone during the last years.

If you take a walking tour of the city you will probably meet on the steps. First stop is in the courtyard where you will see the statues and wall paintings depicting the history of the city. There is a painting of the plan of the city in, I think, the 17th century and coats of arms of the city... More
